OCR-B - Font OCRB Optical Character Recognition

The OCR-B font was created in 1968 by Adrian Frutiger for Monotype Its structure allows to overcome the limitations of the data capture compared to standard fonts, but to the human eye is easier to read than the OCR-A. The OCR-B is compliant with ISO 1073/II-1976 (E), corrected in 1979 ("letterpress" design, size I).

The measure of printing of the font is 12 points, the print density is equal to 10 cpi.

Frequently the OCR-B font is used in the field of banking and postal to print rows of data, commonly called codeline on payment documents so that their subsequent data capture is more accurate.

Although some recognition engines OCR omnifont able to properly recognize this font, using an specific OCR-B engine, we can obtain more accurate and to tolerate any dirt and occlusions.

For more information on the OCR-B technology, it is worthwhile to know how and know our solutions that implement it, you can send us an e-mail to informazioni@recogniform.it or fill in the form below.
